What happens when a robot from a distant planet crash lands into an abandoned trash heap on planet Earth? EXISTENTIALISM! PHYSICAL SPECIFICITY! AND POSSIBLE COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT!!! "Melissa Mahoney is a Robot" is the epic, high-voltage, clowny, dancey, over-the-moon, one-woman extravaganza that combines physical comedy with high-stakes drama. An homage to classic cinema and dubstep. Think Charlie Chaplin meets WALL-E. A "true" story about embracing your inner weirdo and finding your place in the universe.
Melissa Mahoney is a robot, actor, creator, and teacher based in New York City. She has performed with Atlantic Theater Company, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, Ars Nova, The Bushwick Starr, and in theaters across the United States. She is a voice actor for the fictional podcast "It Makes a Sound", and was recently featured in the new animated pilot for "Psycho Psalms" from Open The Portal. Her one-woman show, "Melissa Mahoney is a Robot", has been seen at The Pit, The Tank, and Dixon Place. She is thrilled to be performing it once again at Super Secret Arts! For more info, visit:
