The Parent Trap: Lord of the Twins Trilogy
Time & Location
May 15, 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Super Secret Arts, 400 3rd Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11215, USA
This show is a theatrical and dramatic reimagining of The Parent Trap (1998 version), with highly choreographed storytelling and commentary from the minds of its hyperactive creators, their 7 year old selves, and the plethora of characters from the greatest movie of all time. It has epic Lord of the Rings elements woven throughout. The show is uniquely impressive and smart and has left audiences wondering how they saw what they just saw. Such audience members as…dare we say…Elaine Hendrix aka Meredith Blake aka MERE-DEATH aka the stepmom-to-be in the literal movie? She saw the show in 2018 and absolutely loved it, even though we don’t lean into the new wave “justice for Meredith” narrative once during the show.
The performance style is rooted in Forensics (the acting version not the sci fi version) where the cocreators (Julia Schroeder, Nicole Pascaretta, and director James Quesada) have put a comedic and fantastical interpretation on the movie you know and love. It's a nostalgic journey through the 1998 version of The Parent Trap via two passionate millennial superfans, with as much peril and suspense as the LOTR trilogy.
Julia Schroeder is an actor/comedian/improvisor in NYC, originally from Detroit MI. You can find her improvising with her Magnet team Sweetheart, hosting the Wednesday Night Scene at PIT, doing characters online and IRL, performing kids’ stories with Story Pirates, and hosting the upcoming Story Pirates sports podcast Game On in collab with Audible and Unanimous Media. She loves you, her co-creators of this show, and almond croissants, in that order.
Nicole Pascaretta is an actor/singer/dancer/musical improvisor/comedian in NYC, originally from Detroit MI. She has been performing improv, musical improv, sketch comedy, musical theater, and comedy since 2013. Nicole sings, dances, ukulele-s, and randomly moves her body in ways many didn’t know was humanly possible. Nicole makes sweet yet grotesque comedy online and in person with her comedy duo Bring Your Own Bob, and if you want to really understand the brain of Nicole, check out her personal growth and crypto investment account @nicolebirdfeather on instagram.
James Quesada is an actor/improvisor/director/teacher/audio engineer in NYC, originally from Detroit MI (are we sensing a theme here?). James is a highly sought after director and coach, and has created countless conceptual comedy shows since…birth. He’s taught improv workshops all over the country. He is currently developing an audio variety show (for ears) with his label Sounds Funny Records. He was an award winning Forensics performer and coach back in Michigan, which this trio likes to think was only a precursor to creating The Parent Trap: Lord of the Twins Trilogy.
